See through a different lens!
At the age of eighteen Jennifer Pogats-Meltzer modeled in New York City with Wilhemina Modeling Agency, photographed by Annie Liebowitz, Steve Steigman, and Phil Pegler to name a few. After a move to Chicago, Jennifer was enlisted with Stewart-Elite Talent, photographed by the likes of Victor Skrebneski, Stan Malinowski, and Ray Kamorski. Of course many others shot her, but she learned her great lighting techniques from these great photographers.
Needless to say, it should come as no surprise that Jennifer soon found her way in on the other side of the camera. Photography became a passion. Having raised three sons, she became very good with sports photography. From model's and actor's head shots to family portraits, celebrity events to weddings and christenings and bar-mitzphahs, Jennifer's career as a photographer took off. Shooting events like "Women About Town" for Today's Chicago Woman led to shooting for The Harvard Club and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra – opportunities which gave her the opportunity to click celebrities and political personalities.
Many of Jennifer's photographs are hand-colored. This technique, which began in the early 1900's before color film was invented, is a true art form, not created on a computer. Country Home Magazine published Jennifer's hand-colored flowers under the artist name of Jennifer Gregory.
Jennifer can shoot in black and white and color, both digitally and traditionally. Her work is available in sepia and hand-colored. Additionally, she is available for one-on-one or group classes, teaching the hand-coloring process.
